Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Text entered into a search widget is sent to the third-party provider that operates that widget. The provider processes the query under its own terms. Craven County Court Docket does not maintain a separate visitor search-query log.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the operators may be retained to answer the message and administer the service. It is not shared outside the organization unless a legal requirement applies.
Data We Gather Automatically
Like most web services, the hosting and analytics systems may collect technical visit data, including:
- Internet protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device and operating-system details
- Pages viewed and approximate visit duration
- Referring page when one is available
- Visit timestamps
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics tools can help measure traffic, performance, and page use. Browser controls can block or delete cookies, although some functions may then work differently. Aggregate analytics data is used to operate and improve the resource.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and communications data may be used to:
- Operate and secure the website
- Deliver a search request to the selected partner
- Understand traffic and technical performance
- Diagnose service problems
- Support advertising that may be relevant to a visitor
No Court-Record Data on File
Craven County Court Docket does not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general routing information for the Craven County Clerk of Superior Court, trial courts, calendars, and the statewide eCourts Portal. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies run the search widgets that appear on some content pages. A query submitted there is governed by the partner’s privacy practices, retention policies, and terms. Craven County Court Docket does not control those practices, so a visitor should review a partner policy before entering information.
Links to Other Websites
Official court, clerk, county, and state links lead to independent services. Their policies apply after leaving this resource. Advertising partners may also use their own technology to measure activity across websites; that activity is controlled by those partners, not by Craven County Court Docket.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information can be processed by:
- Search partners that receive a submitted query
- Analytics vendors used to assess traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve material on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement entities when a valid legal obligation requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information handled by the service. No internet transmission or storage system can promise complete security, so protection measures do not guarantee that a security event will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If an operator learns that a minor supplied personal data, the information will be removed when practical.
Your Data Rights
North Carolina’s Public Records Law guidance addresses records held by public agencies and court-related access; it does not convert this private reference resource into a public agency. Subject to applicable law, a person may ask about information directly provided to the operators, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion where appropriate, or ask about available choices for certain processing.
Updates to This Policy
The policy may be revised as the resource or its providers change. A revised version takes effect when posted here. Review this page periodically for the current statement.
